Patient Story
How we helped Laurie, Age 33
- Laurie had a strong family history of cancer, but had never undergone preventive screenings - she was 9 years overdue for an MRI and 3 years late for a baseline mammogram.
- Within a week of her first Gabbi visit, a mammogram was ordered and genetic testing confirmed Laurie carries a BRCA1 mutation, marking a pivotal turning point in her care.
- Her Gabbi specialist developed a high-risk management plan, including preventive measures such as advanced imaging and labs, a referral to a breast surgeon, family genetic testing, and frequent monitoring every few months.
By identifying critical care gaps and creating a proactive path forward, Gabbi empowered Laurie to take control of her health, dramatically reducing her risk and improving her long-term outlook.
